Ornamental Worlds… A New Holiday Tradition
This is the first of what will be an annual limited edition series featuring whimsical images constructed with smashed Xmas ornaments.
Why smash ornaments?
Well... my fascination with ornaments goes back to my childhood. One Christmas I got a Mattel Fanner 50 toy pistol that actually shot plastic bullets (crazy I know!). I would sit on the living room stairs and take aim at the ornaments on the tree across the room. I loved the sound that the shattering ornaments made...still do. Of course, you may read what you want into the meaning of the smashed ornaments... lets just say that many people find something they can relate to in the images.
All prints are 8x8 inches printed on aluminum panels ready to display with a custom hanger-spacer that sets them 1/2 inch off the wall. The dye-sublimation printing process infuses the inks into the aluminum producing a stunning image ideal for this type of subject. Editions are limited to 25.
